Girls Will Be Girls 3 Hollywood "Starlet" Roommates Who Plot Against Each Other

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Tittle:Girls Will Be Girls
Genre: Comedy,Romance
Year: 2003
Plot:A totally over-the-top and hysterical comedy about three Hollywood "starlet" roommates who plot against each other. This soon-to-be-camp-classic stars three of the best drag queens in the business: Coco Peru, Evie Harris and Varla Jean Merman.
A rude, wicked, hilarious and outrageous tale of three woman (who happen to be played by men) and their collective and personal trials and tribulations within and without the Hollywood machine. Coco (Clinton Leupp - of the famous cum in the eye line in Trick) has dreams of reconnecting with the dreamy doctor that performed her first and second abortions. She's the constant recipient of verbal pummeling by her very evil, very drunk and very horny roommate Evie (Jack Plotnick of the amazing short Evie Harris, Shining Star), a delusional over-the-hill actress who will do just about anything to get back in the biz. And then there is the ravenous Varla (Jeffery Roberson aka Varla Jean Merman) who follows suit with unlikely aspirations and demons of her own. Girls will Be Girls was written and directed by Richard Day, one of the lead writers for the superb satire "The Larry Sanders Show."
Girls will be Girls combines razor-sharp wit with major diva performances to produce what will surely become a queer cult classic. Every detail from the costumes and sets to the music seemed geared towards visual pleasures that only gay men may understand. Invite over a few friends, bake some brownies (or pop the corn) and be prepared for some major belly laughs. source / buy at tlavideos

Connie and Carla Heartwarming Story about Friendship and Acceptance

Friday, November 13, 2009

Tittle:Connie and Carla
Genre Comedy,Musical
Year:2004
Plot: A drag queen and music-filled comedy written by and starring Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Toni Collette (Muriel's Wedding
OK people, here are your instructions: first off, suspend your disbelief -- anything can happen; secondly, what may be politically correct is not always funny -- do your best to ignore politics -- at least for the next 98 minutes; third, get a cold drink and get set up in your most comfy chair. Now you are ready to pop Connie and Carla into your machine.
Here they are two amazingly talented women who like to perform full-scale musical numbers from their favorite shows. But these two, Connie (Nia Vardalos of My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Carla (Toni Collette of Muriel's Wedding) perform to an empty airport lounge in their midwestern city. One night they get a kilo of cocaine shoved in their bag by gangsters and subsequently witness a murder. Off they go to a place where people truly appreciate musical numbers -- West Hollywood. Somehow while looking for work, these two crafty women conceive of performing as drag queens (maybe they rented Victor Victoria) and so begins their drag queen career. Each night they pack 'em in at this WeHo club getting the boys to sing along with all their favorite show tunes. These two actresses sing great and the music and costumes are a highlight. If you love musicals, and we know a lot of you guys do, Connie and Carla is a must. They have wacky gay neighbors -- all of whom are drag queens and total femmes, but try to ignore that, remember no politics. There are three straight characters in the film, the rest are all gay, so at least enjoy the majority!
Total fun and essential for musical queens, Connie and Carla's got plenty of belly laughs. Yes, the straight people all have love lives and the gay people don't -- try to ignore that and relax! source/ buy it at  tlavideo
