Girls Will Be Girls 3 Hollywood "Starlet" Roommates Who Plot Against Each Other

Tittle:Girls Will Be Girls
Genre: Comedy,Romance
Year: 2003
Plot:A totally over-the-top and hysterical comedy about three Hollywood "starlet" roommates who plot against each other. This soon-to-be-camp-classic stars three of the best drag queens in the business: Coco Peru, Evie Harris and Varla Jean Merman.
A rude, wicked, hilarious and outrageous tale of three woman (who happen to be played by men) and their collective and personal trials and tribulations within and without the Hollywood machine. Coco (Clinton Leupp - of the famous cum in the eye line in Trick) has dreams of reconnecting with the dreamy doctor that performed her first and second abortions. She's the constant recipient of verbal pummeling by her very evil, very drunk and very horny roommate Evie (Jack Plotnick of the amazing short Evie Harris, Shining Star), a delusional over-the-hill actress who will do just about anything to get back in the biz. And then there is the ravenous Varla (Jeffery Roberson aka Varla Jean Merman) who follows suit with unlikely aspirations and demons of her own. Girls will Be Girls was written and directed by Richard Day, one of the lead writers for the superb satire "The Larry Sanders Show."
Girls will be Girls combines razor-sharp wit with major diva performances to produce what will surely become a queer cult classic. Every detail from the costumes and sets to the music seemed geared towards visual pleasures that only gay men may understand. Invite over a few friends, bake some brownies (or pop the corn) and be prepared for some major belly laughs. source / buy at tlavideos

Wild Side

Tittle: Wild Side

Genre:Drama,
Year: 2004
Plot:A stunningly atmospheric, emotional, sensual slice-of-life film centered around a most unorthodox three-way relationship between a Russian immigrant, an Arab hustler and a transgendered woman.
Out French director Sébastien Lifshitz (Come Undone) returns with this winner of the 2004 Teddy Award for Best Feature Film at the Berlin Film Festival. Sylvie, a big-city transgendered prostitute, returns to her rural birthplace to be at her dying mother’s side. Along for the experience are her soulmates and lovers, Mikhail, an illegal Russian immigrant who speaks little French, and Jamel, a young Arab hustler. As days go by, the three are flooded with memories of their often painful early years and the surprising circumstances under which they met.
Although much of Wild Side is somber, Lifshitz is ultimately interested in the uplifting fact that this trio of very lucky souls found unconditional love, acceptance and camaraderie in each other. Utilizing little dialogue and some explicit sexual moments, Lifshitz directs with an expert hand and lyrical visual sense; his almost entirely nonprofessional cast — Sylvie is played by Stéphanie Michelini, a real-life transsexual discovered in a café — bring a quiet power to this gorgeously affecting masterwork. Connie and Carla Heartwarming Story about Friendship and Acceptance

Tittle:Connie and Carla
Genre Comedy,Musical
Year:2004
Plot: A drag queen and music-filled comedy written by and starring Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Toni Collette (Muriel's Wedding
OK people, here are your instructions: first off, suspend your disbelief -- anything can happen; secondly, what may be politically correct is not always funny -- do your best to ignore politics -- at least for the next 98 minutes; third, get a cold drink and get set up in your most comfy chair. Now you are ready to pop Connie and Carla into your machine.
Here they are two amazingly talented women who like to perform full-scale musical numbers from their favorite shows. But these two, Connie (Nia Vardalos of My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Carla (Toni Collette of Muriel's Wedding) perform to an empty airport lounge in their midwestern city. One night they get a kilo of cocaine shoved in their bag by gangsters and subsequently witness a murder. Off they go to a place where people truly appreciate musical numbers -- West Hollywood. Somehow while looking for work, these two crafty women conceive of performing as drag queens (maybe they rented Victor Victoria) and so begins their drag queen career. Each night they pack 'em in at this WeHo club getting the boys to sing along with all their favorite show tunes. These two actresses sing great and the music and costumes are a highlight. If you love musicals, and we know a lot of you guys do, Connie and Carla is a must. They have wacky gay neighbors -- all of whom are drag queens and total femmes, but try to ignore that, remember no politics. There are three straight characters in the film, the rest are all gay, so at least enjoy the majority!
Total fun and essential for musical queens, Connie and Carla's got plenty of belly laughs. Yes, the straight people all have love lives and the gay people don't -- try to ignore that and relax! source/ buy it at  tlavideo

Being John Malkovich Profound Meditation on Consciousness, Identity, Gender & Reality

Tittle: Being John Malkovich
Genre:  Comedy, Drama
Year: 1999
Plot: This wild, dark and at times quite funny little gem (with a wonderful lesbian/transgendered twist) is reminiscent of Eraserhead (though decidedly more accessible) and te films off Jan Svankmajer and the Brother Quay. John Cusack stars s the haplless Craig Schwartz, an immesely ttalented puppeteer who toils in obscurity and lives in a shabby New York City apartment with his dotting but dumpy wife Lotte (an almost unrecognizable Diaz). While working in a bizarre office on the 71/ flooor of a building, he stumbles upon a hidden doorway which, when entered, transports people into the psyche (body? Id?) of John Malkovich and then, after about 15 minutes, spits tem out onn the Jersey turnpike. He quickly joins forces with his coldly beautiful co-worker Maxine (Catherine Keener) to market this “portal” in the off-hours. Lesbians will enjoy the second half of the film when wife Lotte takes the tour and gets great pleasure in “being” a man sexually, a feeling that leads her to consider transsexualism. Adding to the sexual confusion is when Maxine begins dating Malkovich and Lotte enters him when the two make loe. Soon MMaxine will only have sex with Malkovich when she knows Lotte is inside him! In fat, she coonfesses to both Craig and Lotti that she loves Lotte, but only when Lotte is inside John. There’s more to this lesbian spin, but its best just to watch the film!  source tlavideo

M Butterfly A Sizzling Romance, Deception & Betrayal.

Tittle: M Butterfly
Genre: Drama
Year: 1993
Plot:Jeremy Irons and John Lone star as lovers in this far-fetched story of a man in a relationship with another man who doesn't know that his partner has a penis. We think new eyeglasses might have been warranted. Also features some delicious full-frontal nudity from real lady Annabel Leventon as she sits naked on a bed waiting for Irons to have sex with her.
David Henry Hwang's screen version of his hit play, while fascinating, is something of a letdown. Inspired by a true story, the tragic (and far-fetched) tale is about a man's self-delusional love for and betrayal by an alluring Chinese man who pretends to be a woman. A deer-in-the-headlights-like Jeremy Irons stars as Rene Gallimard, a nebbish accountant at the French Embassy who falls in love with an opera singer, Song Liling (John Lone). As the two begin an affair, Gallimard rises in rank at the embassy, unknowingly disseminating government secrets. The action unfolds slowly and the film's emotional level never seems to rise above the simmering point of grand tragedy; though the relationship between Irons and Lone is romantic, tender and touching. Lone, in heavy makeup and beautifully dressed, plays a convincingly demure pre-op transgender woman.     source/buy it at tlavideo

Venuz Boys Exploration & Expression of Masculinity by Women.

Tittle:Venuz Boyz

Genre: Documentary

Year: 2001

Plot: A beautifully crafted, fascinating documentary on the World of the Drag King "Male Impersonator".

It's good to be king. And the Venus Boyz' subjects surely feel the same way – after all, they're drag kings! In this vibrant documentary, Swiss-born director Gabrielle Baur visits the courts of drag kings – women who take on male alter-egos – and other dwellers within the "universe of female masculinity." Baur's first stop is New York's legendary Club Casanova, where "the Young Wild Ones began writing drag king history." We meet drag king daddy Mo B. Dick; the hot Dred Gerestant, a sexy black ladies' man; serious-minded poet/singer/performer Storme Webber; Diane Torr, who embodies several characters – including middle-class macho man Danny King – and teaches workshops for women on transforming into men; Berlin drag king Bridge Markland, who literally changes from female to male onstage; and accomplished actor Shelley Mars, aka "Grand Daddy of Drag Kings."
Baur also high-tails it to London, where we hang with those who take gender flux a step further – such as photographer Del La Grace Volcano and filmmaker Hans Schierl - experimenting with hormones to become "new men" and "cyborgs." Although chock full of campy, subversive performances (and many additional drag king cameos), the film also delves deep into what it means for these women to go guy, either just for a night or an entire lifetime. Red Without Blue Twin Brothers Tests the Bond of Family

Tittle:Red Without Blue
Genre:Documentary
Year: 2007

Plot:Red Without Blue is an artistic and groundbreaking portrayal of gender, identity, and the unswerving bond of twinship despite transformation. An honest portrayal of a family in turmoil, RWB follows a pair of identical twins as one transitions from male to female. Captured over a period of three years, the film documents the twins and their parents, examining the Farley's struggle to redefine their family. The twins' early lives were quintessentially all-American: picture-perfect holidays, supportive parents who cheered them on every step of the way. By the time they were 14, their parents had divorced, they had come out as gay, and a joint suicide attempt precipitated a forced separation of Mark and Alex for two and half years. Through candid and extensive interviews with the twins and their family, recounts these troubled times, interweaving the twins' difficult past with their efforts to find themselves in the present. The film follows the painful steps of Clair's transition, including electrolysis and the difficult decision to proceed with bottom surgery. Through its portrayal of these articulate and independent twins, each haunted by the painful experiences of their adolescence, the film questions normative standards of gender and identity – as Mark and Clair reassert their indescribable bond as identical twins. Through the power of the Farleys' voices, we hear the story of a family's redemption from a dark past, and ultimately, its revival to the present. source /buy it at  tlavideo

Starrbooty Fierce Outfits, Wigs and Makeup

Tittle: Starrbooty
Genre: Comedy,Action

Year:2007
Plot: The one and only RuPaul stars in this sex-filled, riotously funny, jaw-droppingly crude, and down-n-dirty send-up of secret agent blaxploitation flicks that features some big pornstar cock cameos.
RuPaul is Starrbooty, a top (well, actually a bottom as you'll soon discover) secret ops agent who is plunged into chaos when her niece is kidnapped by long-time nemesis and fellow indulger of flawless skin and skin-tight couture, Annaka Manners (Candis Cayne). It seems that Miss Not-So-Nice Manners has a devious plot to snatch hookers off the street so that she can cut 'em up and sell 'em off one piece at a time. Starrbooty is forced to go "undercover ho" to rescue her niece... and her own true identity.
Directed by hunky photographer and actor Mike Ruiz (that's him on the cover of Latin Boys Go to Hell), Starrbooty is stuffed and tucked with some of the most outrageously twisted set pieces you'll see this year. Highlights include a priest with a penchant for yanking his "rosary" while inhaling freshly expelled air biscuits, Starrbooty taking it up the wazoo from her boss, Max (a very naked Gus Mattox), explicit full-on frontal pleasures from Michael Lucas and Owen Hawk and a demented Lady Bunny unleashing her "inner beauty" in a scene certain to cause horrified howls of laughter.
Truth be told, the too-closely shot handheld camerawork during the fight scenes requires the viewer to take a huge hit of Dramamine® to keep up with it, some of the jokes are groan-inducing, and a lil' bit of judicious editing could have kept the flick moving at a better clip.
But make no mistake - Starrbooty is RuPaul's show all the way, and the forever Supermodel of the World delivers on all counts. Filled with references to iconic films of the past, fierce outfits, wigs and makeup, scatological humor (literally!), a wicked soundtrack and plenty of exposed he-man fleshrods, Starrbooty is a fried, dyed and laid to the side-splitting kick-ass good time. Life is Hot in Cracktown Gritty, Hard Realities

Life is Hot in Cracktown
Genre: Drama

Year:2009
Plot: Based on writer/director Buddy Giovinazzo’s best-selling novel, Life is Hot in Cracktown shows the gritty, hard realities of a neighborhood, as well as the struggling, proud people who try to survive them. Life Is Hot in Cracktown explores how crack cocaine infiltrated the streets of urban America by following the journeys of four people whose lives are on a tragic collision course
Marybeth (Kerry Washington) is a pre-op transsexual working as a prostitute and living with her lover, Benny, a small time burglar. In spite of their lines of work, they live a somewhat normal life as a married couple. Marybeth works the streets in the hopes of saving enough money for her final sex change operation, so then she and Benny can be married. Meanwhile, Manny (Victor Rasuk) is busy pulling double shifts while his wife, Concetta (Shannyn Sossamon), cares for their sickly infant son in their run-down apartment. By night Manny works at a 24-hour bodega frequented by junkies, drug dealers, and prostitutes, and by day keeps the peace as a security guard at a welfare hotel. One of the residents at that hotel is Willy, a ten-year-old boy who lives with his mother (Illeana Douglas) and her abusive boyfriend. Willy begs for money on the street so he and Susie can get some fast food. But it's dangerous out there, because volatile gangster Romeo (Evan Ross) is still searching the streets for his brother's killer, and he won't hesitate to terrorize anyone unfortunate enough to cross his warpath. Lara Flynn Boyle, Brandon Routh, Desmond Harrington, and RZA co-star. [D-Man2010]
Note: As a Transgender I really appreciate & admire Mr. Giovinazzo, Kerry and the wonderful cast of the movie. For being sensitive & showing some of the real struggles living as a transgender. I think Kerry's acting was good but as Marybeth a TS. She was too fishy. She looked like a fag hag. I must say the make up artist did a great job trying to make her look like a TS.
